What is this, exactly?

Two grown men of considerable years and modest fitness have decided to visit four cafés. On foot. In sequence. They are calling it a “challenge”, which is generous.

There is no prize. There is no sponsorship deal. There is only tea, the open road, and a quiet determination that frankly none of their families can explain.

Every pound goes to Guhyaloka for the Ages. Every café gets us £1,000 closer. Nobody is being paid — least of all in dignity.

The First Café

Spirits are high. Knees are not. Our heroes set off from Bethnal Green with a flask, a map neither can read, and the unshakeable confidence of men who have not yet walked very far.

The challenge so far

£1,150 of £4,000 goal

87 kind people have chipped in. That’s 29% of the way there — and roughly one and a half cafés deep.
